Type design
Venezia
A text typeface drawing from the Venetian oldstyle tradition — calligraphic warmth with contemporary structural clarity.
2024 — text
Venezia returns to the humanist typefaces of 15th-century Venice — Jenson, Aldus, the early Roman types that balanced the calligraphic hand against the demands of the printing press. The contemporary interpretation tightens the spacing and optical adjustments for screen and print use at text sizes.
Specimen
Designed to perform in long-form reading contexts — editorial, book, and brand typography. The italic carries genuine calligraphic energy rather than a mechanical slant.
Features
Four styles with true italic. Latin Extended-A, OpenType features including ligatures, oldstyle figures, small caps. Desktop and web fonts.
